Getting your home "market ready" can be a daunting task. Baby steps and small chunks over a period of time can help with the immense "to do list"

Today I would like to focus on a very small part of the list in getting your property "buyer ready" The curbside appeal and first impression is everything to your potential buyer.

I cannot tell you how many properties I have looked at online where the property is "spakling" We make the appointment. The buyers are excited. We get to the front door-- UGH! The front door hardware is old and scratched. The key will not even turn properly in the lock.  What does this say to the buyer? The buyer thinks,"oh no,old and worn, the sellers have not cared for the property. Front door impressions carry a lot of weight.

I am amazed at how many times this has happened to myself with clients. Step back from your property--pretend you are seeing it for the first time. Here is a list of tips for getting offers on your property.

1. Does the front door need a new paint color or even a new door?

2. Hardware updated? Lock properly working?

3. New fresh clean door mat with a subliminal message maybe? I purchase them at Homegoods. Some have some really cute messages like "you are home"

4.Purchase some fresh colorful happy plants for the front entrance. Make it look and feel like you love your house.

5. Is the front porch pressure washed? Spider webs, dirt dobber nests in corners? Major turn off--looks like no one cares.

6 The bushes and landscaping trimmed back going up to the front door? Do you need a couple of bags of fresh mulch or white pepples?

Remember first impressions are everything. We dont want to lose an opportunity with buyers because of drive by that does not say " BUY ME'
